Re: Alternator noise

When I used it on my new brake pads, it was quite runny and I found it difficult to get a decent layer of the grease as it just ran off. I also sprayed two slider pins (Not on MX5) and it worked, but the floor had twice as much copper grease as the pins.

Personally I would not recommend.

Re: Decent Cat Converter

Lazza,
H/C analysis was OK once new CAT fitted - so don't think it is that.

Re: Decent Cat Converter

Tried to get a second hand Cat, but difficult to buy. I must admit I did think of your alternative option.

Re: Decent Cat Converter

Hi Wayne,
It was fitted by the Garage, I suspect a generic version. Fortunately, the garage got it changed under warranty so no cost. I do see many comments though indicating poor life for aftermarket Cats. Do you have a suggested brand?

Decent Cat Converter

Hi, Just sent the car for MOT and advised that it had failed on emissions again. A new Cat was fitted in April last year and the car has only done max 2500 miles this year. But it failed. The tester phoned me around 6:00pm and asked me to give it a good run at high revs to get the exhaust hot. After...

Re: Stainless Manifold Recommendations

I bought the MX5 Parts one for my 1.8 and used with a SS system, certainly looks pretty. No problems with it.

Re: Clunk from n/s rear

Could it be a sticking brake after applying the handbrake.

Re: Electric Mk1 MX5!

Good luck with 4 of them, please don't use more than 4 as the savings have to come from somewhere and my MPG is not brilliant as is.
I think the 30% saving only works when going downhill though.

BTW have a look at this
