Re: Internal Sill repair

Nothing new here, the photo issue started in summer 2017 when the photo hosting site Photobucket tried to hold users to Ransom.

If you use either Google Chrome or Firefox as a browser search for the photobucket fix that gets over this.

Not sure what other browsers have the fix available.

Re: MX5 NC Rear Caliper Replacement How To

As you say it is different in that instead of the allen key on the earlier car to do the initial piston setting on the rear caliper, on the MK3 you adjust the physical piston with a wide screwdriver or a piston winding tool. On the early cars the handbrake should operate fully at 7 clicks, on the Mk...

MX5 NC Rear Caliper Replacement How To

I could find no details on the net to assist removing and replacing a MX5 NC rear brake caliper. The http://www.melens.com/mazda site has manuals but if you look through them in detail there are missing sections in the manual with regards to the handbrake cable. Further the Mazda European Portal pai...

Re: Engine oil change MK1

10W30 is not impossible to get in the UK but it is basically a US oil grade as virtually no UK engine oil blender produces it.

Re: Mk 4 with lifeless steering

The 2018 cars will have a few mods. One is a new electric power steering map to improve feel, tweeks to the anti roll and as of the beginning of November 2017 production a version 4 gearbox. Version 1 was the original box. Versions 2 late 2016 and version 3 spring 2017 were for the 2nd 3rd gear prob...

Re: Space saver tyres - do they fit in the boot ok?

There is a Hyundai that has a similar size wheel and tyre. It only fits on the rear as the front caliper gets in the way. Therefore if you get a front tyre puncture you have to change a rear tyre first then use that to do the front. From about 2010, I cannot remember the exact date, Mazda stopped su...

There is no need to be a member of the OC. You can register on the OC forum as a user and pm Robert there.

He said the other day they are overstocked on Mk1 and Mk2 spares and are reducing prices on these car parts apart from hoods.

Re: Nc clunking noise at rear

Get the back end in the air in a safe manner. On each of the antiroll bar drop link fixing bolt put a breaker bar on each one and give them a good pull and listen and look for movement in the joint. Do the fronts as well. Change the ones that are loose. Rear wheels off and check the rear pads are no...

Re: Cut out when using right indicator

That is an electrical fault probably a bad earth.

If you are competent with electrics trace all the earth wires on that car to find the fault with probably a bad connection to the body.

If you are not handy with car electrics it is a job for an autoelctrician.
