Selling my MK2 project car

Hi all, I'm selling my MK2 project car as an uncompleted project for someone else to take on. There are a number of reasons, but a key one is that I don't really have time to work on that and keep the MK1 is good condition and I would rather focus on the MK1 which is otherwise starting to get a bit ...

Re: Mk2 clutch hydraulics question

So I bought a replacement slave cylinder as suggested - I went with a pattern one from MX5parts, rather than an OEM one. When I took the old one off the boot was full of manky clutch fluid so all good, definitely leaking. But once the system was all put back to rights I couldn't get any pressure in ...

Mobile electrician needed

Can anyone recommend a mobile vehicle electrician who covers the Warrington area? I need someone to remove the immobiliser from my dead Mk1 and fit it to my new Mk1 in place of the one that is currently on there.

Thanks.

Re: Mk2 clutch hydraulics question

Thanks for the feedback chaps. I'll order a replacement clutch slave cylinder as suggested, if the system is totally drained anyway then there is no real downside other than a minor outlay and a bit of extra work.

Re: Sill replacement panels

I can't speak to the Mk1 but from the experience on my Mk2 they are a bugger to fit. They are roughly the right shape but the curvature is wrong so you have to do a lot of metalwork as well as the welding work. Unless you are confident, and have plenty of patience, then I would definitely recommend ...

Mk2 clutch hydraulics question

Yesterday I finally finished the sill welding on my Mk2 project car and for the first time in 15 months it is back on all four wheels. I decided to check that everything was working as expected but when I put my foot on the clutch the pedal goes straight to the floor with no pressure whatsoever. Def...

Re: Temperature reading low

Cheers Wayne. I need to remove the instrument cluster at some point anyway to swap out the dials on the oil pressure gauge and the speedo (the latter because the one fitted is ugly) so if it was something as simple as that then it would be convenient. I'm guessing that getting the needle in the righ...

Temperature reading low

Since I got the new Mk1 I have noticed that the temperature gauge never gets up to the normal position. It makes it as far as the edge of the 'water' on the temperature logo - so maybe 60 degrees - then stays there. I immediately suspected the thermostat but having just exchanged it I am still getti...

Re: Faults or normal? 1990 Eunos

When Wayne says full Mk2 suspension he means shocks, springs and top mounts. They are all different from the Mk1 but you should be able to get a complete set second hand and it all then bolts in to the same mounting points. Replacing the entire strut is actually a lot easier than swapping a shock or...

Re: Faults or normal? 1990 Eunos

Agree - you can never have the perfect mix of comfort and handling. If I was going for a daily driver Mk1 I would definitely fit the Mk2 suspension. But for chucking around the twists a set of adjustable dampers on lowered suspension is always going to be more effective. The trick as always is to fi...

Re: Faults or normal? 1990 Eunos

I had Mk2 suspension on my Mk1 for a while and I agree that the ride comfort is much improved. In the end I swapped back to lowered Mk1 suspension as I didn't like the additional body roll from the higher ride height on the Mk2 gear. But then I paid double so the Mk2 gear is still very good value fo...
