Greetings and welcome to menders, this site was built for every owner that might need her to help keep those bills low and also keep them on the road where they belong, she is run by very passionate enthusiasts owners for passionate enthusiastic owners, see her like a on line garage, there is a lot of tech stuff hopefully explained for everyone to use, if there is something you cannot get your head around, or you feel that there is a strong walk through guide missing that needs creating by one of us or from yourselves, please let us know, we are also on false book and youtube, which as short tech vids to help, and again if you feel there is a vid that would help please get it touch.

Wayne recently showed me how easy this mod was to do. It took me literally 10 mins to do the job. I did take pic but my phone lost them. I can take some more if you need them to help you to do it .

I have a spare right handside rear hub for a mk1. I bought it 2 weeks ago as MOT said my bearing was rough. Turns out i don't need it . So £25 or will swap for a jdm rear panel .

How did you get on with changing the rear bearing/up right . M-m Went over to stes house yesterday , got everything off , even that b@#&ard bottom bolt . Then couldn't get the hub off. Even ended up breaking ste's hub puller. So put everything back together and they passed it this morning. Ste ...

Thanks for confirming - in that case I'll have a go at putting the new belt on myself. Not looking forward to getting at that "tricky" bolt on the alternator side, but I just found a guide for this whole procedure in your maintenance section - this is really useful, especially the picture...

Should be fine, but you will need the trouqe it back up John,as it tightens down to the wheel bearing, so it needs to be right, as for a breaker bar, they are always needed in a kit for fettling, remember you can always put a length of metal tube over one to make it longer to help with a bit more G...

Cheers Wayne and Lazza, I'll get the 32mm socket. Do you reckon an 18" breaker bar would be a good idea too for this job ?
