Re: Mk1 restoration

Hope everyone has been enjoying the Sunshine. Spent the day filling the fog light hole in the rear plastic bumper and removing the stone chip coating from the bottom of the N/S door. Then primed the bumper with primer with a few drops of plasticiser for added flex and straight primer for the door. T...

Re: Mk1 headlight cover adjustment.

If it’s just a small adjustment to align to the bonnet line then yes. Pop up the headlights, remove the black plastic side cover from memory a couple of pozidrive screws. The headlight cover is then held in position buy 4 screws, one on each corner. Loosen and adjust. Retighten and check alignment. ...

Re: Well thats buggered that!

Hi mate, agree with others on here a real share for you, but I guess better is know when to call it a day rather than throwing more money at it. I've just repaired a sill and I noticed that the point where yours caught alight, on mine had loads of factory body seam sealer. I had removed the carpet, ...

Welding on the near side wing is now complete (at last) So time to ensure all the metal has a good coating of weld thorough primer before the wing goes on. Re: Mk1 restoration

Fujikun, Thank you for your support. Such a shame there aren't more repair sections for Mk1's. Surprised based on the number of vehicles sold world wide. Just wondered if we run a poll what sections people would like to see produced. May just inspire someone or even Mazda to do a limited press run. ...

Re: Mk1 restoration

Hi folks, Been a while since I posted, spent a long time with lots of :confusion-confused: head scratching as construction of the inner floor to sill has been a lot of trial and error. No parts available so a complete home fabrication. However with the worry of getting this wrong would undoubtably c...

Re: Mk1 restoration

Update on progress made. Door and rear bumper removed, typical issue with the 8 off 14mm bumper retaining bolts in that one started spinning (luckily the one of the bottom ones) and had to be cut off, and two snapped the retaining bolts due to corrosion. Door was less problematic. In between times, ...

Hi Menders, Merry Christmas to everyone. Little update on my latest project. Managed to get some time today to start the process of removing the rot. https://i.imgur.com/bLKgZJE.jpg On first inspection the arches don't look to bad. https://i.imgur.com/LWWmnZO.jpg https://i.imgur.com/bggDiZZ.jpg Howe...
