Re: LeMans

We went to Le Mans a few times in the late 90's early 2000's. Loved it, never had a nice car to go in though. My first time, originally planned to go before Lock Down, but hey ho. Was hoping to take this car but not ready so very lucky to be taking a Mazda instead. 59C9F90B-2148-487F-8BF8-7FA8C7EEE...

LeMans

Hello, new thread of sorts. Spent Saturday fitting new Meister shocks to the front (rears still to do). Then tonight a fluid and general check around the car as I’m planning to take it to LeMans in two weeks time. 7ACC262E-901E-40A4-8FFB-6E202C0CBC3C.jpeg 94B39D48-55C4-4BB4-85E0-34283CDFCFCF...

Re: 2002 Arizona Rebuild

Great updates, shall be looking at a finger belt sander based on your comments. One possible thing for you to consider is the use of a joggler for when you are welding your arches. It allows either the old or new panels to be overlapped meaning you don’t end up with any gaps between the new and old ...

Re: Not an MX5

Update on progress. Engine bay (the boot space) stripped out. Rust cut out, plated and then filled before priming. A long progress, hard areas to fill and sand to make look factory. Re: 3" angle grinder

Re 3” cordless angle grinders I have the Sealey version (see below). Couple this with a 4amp hour battery and it’s spot on. Really like the sealey CP range. My go to drill, grinder polisher and ratchet.

Re: You Tube v Reality

Keep us posted on progress/ bruised knuckles :) I would be tempted to just try to heat the diff /prop flange first. But if localised heat can work wonders with rust.

Re: Not an MX5

Quick update. Front crossmember full of tin worm. It’s Italian after all :???: AAF4B039-1F80-4132-B100-9C12E1CB1D17.jpeg So dropped the front subframe so I could look at replacing/patching. Re: Not an MX5

What an interesting car John, what's the story behind it? Glad you think it’s of interest. My understanding is the car was originally build in 2008 as a Group B rally tribute in the style of a Lancia 037. I did look but couldn’t find £250,000 sitting around for one of them.
