Re: Do You Use OEM or Pattern Parts.

Depends on what I want, general service items oem via either Autolink or Eurocarparts and at times MX5 parts.

Major components I always try for manufacturer parts when I can.

As MXRod says, you pays your money

Re: Mk2 emissions fail

Italian Tune Up = get her a good thrashing to burn off any deposits is my understanding[/quote]

Re: Antenna lead

Not scientific, but if you have an old aerial floating about, connect it up and see if you get a radio signal, if so then the old aerial (antenna) is the problem. I had this on a previous mx with a remote antenna, and it was a fault within the mast, used the existing lead to connect a new one up to ...

Re: New front hub needed?

Personally, I would bite the bullet, but is it not just the actual bearing failling, sure it can be replaced. I never cut corners on essentials.

Re: Alternator noise

Does the whine/whirring get louder with more electrical load. Have you checked its output with a volt meter. Personal choice but if my alternator was on its way out, I would fit a new one asap. They tend to just pack up without warning. Most alternators suppliers operate an exchange units policy the...

Re: Mk2.5 no hazard lights or central locking

just blagged a look in the boot of my old 2003 SVT Sport ( the one I wish I had never sold) and there is no fuse above the battery, well if it is there it must be hidden away somewhere very discreet.

Interested in the final outcome and solution
