Re: A G-ltd arrives at wayne mansion

"I am very limited to what I can physically do" So perhaps MM stands for mere mortal or more than likely Mazda Mad!! Even laid up you cant just rest up and have to have your hands on a MX5. I follow all your build threads, mainly looking for tips to keep my little girl as standard as possi...

Re: Hi from Silsden

Welcome to the world of Meders. An S2000, I always wanted one but couldn't find a decent one for the right money. (still secretly would like one but dint tell the wife) Got introduced to the world of all things MX5 and the rest is history. I'm no super mender but from previous experiences, I had to ...

Re: 'Catching' on full lock

Has the car suffered any pothole strikes that may have knocked summat out of kilter.

Have you checked that there is no excessive play in the various steering components.

Let's rule out the obvious then get deeper if we need to.

Re: Mk 3 battery not holding charge

I have a little plug in device that goes into the cig lighter socket that gives me a constant voltage reading (off the bay that is e) Not sure about how to fit a new regulator into an alternator or indeed if it is possible, do you have a local repair shop that repairs alternators. Most alternateors ...

Re: Mk 3 battery not holding charge

What you have said is sometimes the cause of a battery drain, it can also be caused by the alarm/immobiliser but the amount of battery drain you mention seems to point to the regulator/alternator issue. Have you put a volt meter across the battery while the engines running to see what the alternator...

Re: Hello all

I had a 2003 1.8 S.VT (sequential valve timing or summat like that) and we loved it but the sheer costs of running two mx5s, my VW, the wifes Fiesta and the motorbike meant something had to go. The little 1.6 mk1 was safe so the SVT had to reluctantly go as I love my bike and don't want to give it u...

Re: clunking from back of gearbox area

I seem to recall once reading about a clutch fault that caused a judder at slow speeds and in particular reverse. It was said to be a problem on the 2.5s and I believe there was an updated clutch solution. That said I am not a super dooper master Mazda mender, he will be along later one way or anoth...

Re: Mk3.5 not starting after battery change

You really need to find someone with a half decent code reader first of all. You said that the sat nav was playing up prior to the battery change and a loss of power, could be connected but somehow don't see where. You can buy various code readers from stand alone hand held devices to bluetooth vers...

Re: The G-ltd arrives at wayne mansion

Looks like you have some more Mazda Mender fetling to get on with. Keep looking for a decent mk1 special edition but the wife wants a new car so looks like my planned addition will be on the back burner. Still mine might not be a special edition but she is very special to me. Topic added to my follo...

Re: Mk3.5 not starting after battery change

Maybe a daft question but was the car starting ok prior to fitting the new battery (I know you said the battery wanted changing but assume after a charge the car started fine)

Didn't see your other post. Just about to read it and digest what you say. In the meantime, don't panic too much as the more super experienced menders might go the roundabout route but give them time and they will get you there.

Thats the sole purpose of this site. To help owners maintain their own roadsters to the best of each ones abilities and avoiding costly visits to garages for jobs that are easy enough to do given time and the right instructions. I landed on here when a stuck egr valve destroyed the ecu and the rest ...

Assuming that all fuses are correct :confusion-confused:

No water ingress to the ecu :confusion-confused:

All earths are clean and correct :confusion-confused:

Then I would be on the phone to Wayne :laughing-rolling:
