Re: Heated rear window connector detatched
Thanks. Do I just need that wire (solder)? It seems like shed loads of solder is needed to build up a blob. Someone said something about flux, what's this?

Re: Heated rear window connector detatched
It doesn't sound daft. It's me that's daft, it was my first ever attempt at soldering. I'm not even sure if I was using the right stuff. The guy that gave me the iron also gave me a short line of steel looking wire. Is this the flux/solder combined or should I have used something else? I didn't remo...

Heated rear window connector detatched
Got a lovely Mark 1 1.8 in British Racing Green. Noticed the rear window heater panel wasn't working and when I checked the connectors to the element one of them came off. I tried soldering it but it didn't work. How can I re-attach it?

Re: Mark 1 Eunos, Non runner
Tried cam angle sensor, fuel pressure, new ECU, It fires then dies, something to do with the injectors not getting a signal.
It will get about £80 for scrap so I'll accept offers above £100

Re: Starting problem; engine fires then dies.
I think this has been checked. The latest opinion is that the new ECU isn't compatible despite having the same serial number. They are going to send the old ECU for Investigation. In the meantime I've decided to get another Mx5. I will be the proud owner of a very tidy Mk 1 1.8si in BRG. My old one ...

Re: Starting problem; engine fires then dies.
Mazda mender; thanks for the alarm spec, The installer told me the immobiliser wouldn't allow the engine to even turn over. Saying that for years the little red LED has been permanently on rather than flashing. I just don't use the alarm or even lock the door because the driver's door sometimes jams...

Re: Starting problem; engine fires then dies.
It is an import, but I didn't know about an aftermarket immobiliser for insurance. If there was one wouldn't I have been told about how it is activated/over-ridden? The previous owner to me had a Clifford eagle fitted and I checked with the installer and he said the immobiliser on it wouldn't even l...

Re: Starting problem; engine fires then dies.
I didn't know the mark 1 had a factory immobiliser. How is it activated? I think the auto spark has checked the connectors but I'll quiz him again next time I see him.
