Re: GV and Rev 9's Co*k up repair panels....

They will work just fine, until someone is in an accident the car bends in two where the fibreglass is holding the rust together.
Or just allow a quick fit tyre monkey near it with a trolley jack!!!

Re: De-powered power steering rack

Was supposed to be going picking the rack up today, attempted to contact the seller last night, no reply, more messages to his this morning still no reply. I wanted the extra rack so I could keep my mk1 mobile whilst I did the job on the rack. Looks like I will have to strip my own rack down now. So...

Re: De-powered power steering rack

The plan is to split the rack down to expose the seal on the actual rack and remove it. I then intend to tig weld the pinion to take the slack out of it that is there to take up the play of the fluid. I will then seal the holes for the pipework either using the pipe fittings or maybe epoxy to keep t...

Re: De-powered power steering rack

I don't have my old manual rack any more.
I have managed to find a very cheap power steering rack so I will buy that and have a play about and keep you updated.
Cheers.

De-powered power steering rack

Morning all I have been using my mk3 mx5 for some Autosolo's recently and my intention is to get my mk1 out next season. My issue is the mk3 steering doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the steering inputs and I can easily find the steering almost locking up say when driving through a slalom. No...

Re: Mk1 Turns Over, Wont Start

I don't know much about electrics (in fact nothing) but having read your post I would say your issue lies with the removal of the alarm/immobiliser. You say you moved the wires to cable tie them out of the way, try the wiring there to see if you have dislodged something. If the engine is turning ove...

Re: Need wing mk1 and water wash holder

I don't know if you are a member of the OC.
Robert Maguire on there is based over the border in Dublin and is usually breaking a few.
His name on the OC forum is MX5 123.
If you are not on the OC forum then I can always drop him a message on your behalf.

Cheers
Dermot.
