2000 Mk2 1600 Red - NOW SOLD
My Mk2 1600 MX5. I have owned the car since Dec 2011. Sadly the first owner passed away so the car had to be transferred to her spouse to sell on - making me the 3rd owner. I have every document receipt etc from the first owner, even the DVLA correspondence covering the above. The car in its life ti...

Rain rail sorted
During the winter we had a problem with the the misses car and for a while it meant I had to transport her and 2 dogs in my mk2. Having a hard top stashed away, I decided to remove the soft top for a while so I could use the space behind the seats for the dogs. This worked quite well. I stored the h...

I have just signed up for £170, milage limited to 3,000 for me and the wife. Initially told it was £250 but they would match my renewal price from Saga. They have offered me agreed value for free too.

Re: Mk2 Handbrake adjustment ?
M-m,
Thanks very much for the informative reply.
Looked through the photos first of all and expected to see something like "this is not the way to do it" - thought the red rubber grease was a couple of mashed up finger tips!

Mk2 Handbrake adjustment ?
My hand brake pulls up 6 sometimes 7 clicks - is this excessive and time for adjustment?
I have looked for info on adjusting on this forum without out success and got totally confused on another site over the suggested different methods.

Yes I appreciate what you say, but I did add that I was awaiting pictures, and also thought that if anyone in this area was contemplating having sill work carried out maybe this would have been of help.

Sill and arch repaired
My Mk2 had the near side sill and arch done about 2 years ago, along with a steam clean and waxoil of the underside. A couple of months ago I noticed a couple of bubbles on the drivers side sill and arch. I have been waiting for this to happen and had sussed out a guy to carry out the work. He is al...
Re: nightmare
Can you get one of those minature CCTV cameras, I am not sure what the diameter is but we used one for searching into a cavity wall. Even if you can't get it in you may see inside the box. Good luck.

Re: Winter tyres
205s would fit fine with standard offset wheels but you don't want 205 width winter tyres anyway. Lazza - thanks for the reply - the guy selling them said that a bigger width would be better - but now I can see he was just wanting to get rid of them, and I guess as I didn't know he thought that &qu...

Winter tyres
Thought about getting some winter tyres. Went to a local supplier who has offered me a good deal for 4, but they are 205 60 14 as opposed to 185 60 14.
Would the extra width be ok on my Mk 2?
Thanks for any advice.

Saw some parking like this a few months back. I was in the company landrover and we parked as close as we could and both got out the drivers side. He'd gone when we got back - could have been interesting.

Just been reading through some old posts. I think the information here is really clear, so much so that I am getting a clock - I think they look great.
