Re: Coolant Reservoir Clean

A few members have used jetwashes to clean them. I ended up using various bottle brushes and lots and lots of detergent.

Must say your idea is smarter than mine. Its also similar to how we clean loose rust from our old aircooled VW fuel tanks before relining the tanks. :handgestures-thumbup:

Re: Astonmazda the story so far

As I'm sure you know, we love such dedication and attention to detail. That colour, chiltern green by any chance? Would love to see that car once its done. It is chiltern green. An Aston colour. I'm based in Stockport pal but do go to Wigan most Friday nights (see the wife's folks) should be gettin...

Re: MOT debacle - does your Eunos need a CAT?

‚ÄúPassenger cars first used before 1 August 1995 and not mentioned in the Annex to this publication are tested to non-catalyst standards.‚ÄĚ In my ccase they argued that mine (a Dec 1992) was imported in 1999 and and was therefore "first used" (in the UK) in 1999 and should meet the 1999 tes...

Re: Import CAT requirements. VOSA information

Update. Retook the test this morning, rest of the issues were fine (fog light switch, number plate, headlight beam height) but as my 1992 (J-reg) mk1 was imported in 1999 (according to the dvla V5) they were trying test the emissions on my eunos as a 1999 car. Luckily i had the information this time...

Re: Import CAT requirements. VOSA information.

Thanks for the help Phil. Will be getting my Eunos retested tomorrow and will point this out to the tester as he failed it on emissions (HC) even though it passed on the cat. He insisted that all cars had the same test after august 92 (mine is December 92) but i have found that if the vehicle is not...

Re: MX5 1999 1.8

I started in the engine by stripping out the right side and cleaning, the P.A.S reservoir I removed and referbed. The mounting bracket was almost rotted through so i cut it off and made a new one from stainless steel, before welding back on i shot blast the res and when assembled primed and painted...

Re: Internal Sill repair

These pictures will give you a good idea of what the internal structure of the Sill is on the Mk1 MX5, the MX2 is very similar, they will also show you how a correct repair should be carried out This car didn't actually look that bad before we cut it open, and even with our experience we didn't exp...
