Greetings and welcome to menders, this site was built for every owner that might need her to help keep those bills low and also keep them on the road where they belong, she is run by very passionate enthusiasts owners for passionate enthusiastic owners, see her like a on line garage, there is a lot of tech stuff hopefully explained for everyone to use, if there is something you cannot get your head around, or you feel that there is a strong walk through guide missing that needs creating by one of us or from yourselves, please let us know, we are also on false book and youtube, which as short tech vids to help, and again if you feel there is a vid that would help please get it touch.

MK1 dash swap

i'm going to fit a MK2 dash to my MK1 other than the dash , glove box and center console do i also need the instrument cowl and the plastics that surround the indicator stalk or do the mk1 ones fit, cheers.

replaced the drivers side window winder mechanism and filled the sills with dyanax S-50 cavity wax, i think i put a bit to much in as it was dripping out for hours.

the cable on my drivers side manual winder has snapped ,any one know if the cables that are available with fit a manual winder , looks a bit of a nightmare as there is a big spring inside which looks like it will fly out.

you could do what i did, i purchased a couple of alignment bolts in case i snapped any and loosened them one by one , i use the car everyday so can't be without it so the spares were just in case any of them snapped but they didn't. normally if they snap you just drift out the old bolt, worse case s...

i also don't like where it mounts to, there is a good chance if you touch those camber bolts you will need the alignment doing.

i thought if you jumped the connections at the diagnostic socket that it ruled out it being the relay or the wiring am i wrong ?
