From what I can tell the crank thrust bearings are on their way out. Makes a nasty rattle at about 3,000 rpm and is down on power. I need to pull the engine and have a look, most likely remedy is to put the head on a second hand Mk2.5 engine as they are more readily available. Unfortunately my garag...

Sorry has been a manic month and not spent much time at home.
