Re: Electric Mk1 MX5!

BTW have a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAgQETYgKuc Glennygills, Those bozo’s had clearly installed it incorrectly, but they sound foreign so what do you expect! I’ve read the bumf and the numbers add up. I’ve ordered 197 of them (all he’s got) and I’ve got great plans afoot! Take a...

Re: Explain your user name?

Hugeness, simple... because I’m fat. Thanks a lot school friends!
I’m also known as Rumy, short for ruminator. A ruminator is an animal with more than one stomach.

Re: Arghhh! I'm an idiot

A knack I don't have!
I've sorted it, bought another cluster in Pem, only £20 and swapped the front so not to bad
Only difference was the new one didn't have a standoff for what I think is the rear de-mist light, so I just left it unplugged.
Seems fine.

Arghhh! I'm an idiot

Trying to put those stupid chrome surrounds on my dials I've cracked the glass front. They're a pain and I wish I hadn't bought the things. Anyway... Trawling eBay now for a new glass front or cluster I can get one off. Is there any difference between the mk1 and mk2/2.5? It's just the glass/perspec...

Re: Engine oil change MK1

Message received and understood Captain :-D I suppose the general rule is "change your oil regularly" and you won't go to wrong if you stick to the tried and tested brands Although I might try a bit of that aggressive oil you mentioned for a week or two and then go back to normal , see if ...

Re: Engine oil change MK1

Interesting chat tonight with a bloke outside the Chippy in Hindley who said he had an mx5 until last year. I mentioned that I'd had a bit of lifter noise when starting up on Saturday and hadn't heard it before. He recommended I use 0w40 fully synthetic in it to prevent it. I was surprised at this a...

Re: Interior Red and White wire

Ok, update... I reckon I've found it, drivers side right-hand trim, but... there seem to be two very similar wires. I'll try both and see what happens :auto-layrubber: It'll be fine, what's the worst that can happen? Lol I'm hoping either a blown fuse or blown bulb in which case it must be the other...
