Re: Mk 3 battery not holding charge

This is a very common problem for a mk3 MX5, there is nothing wrong with your car or your battery, basically it is called dark current drain. When the car is parked up the battery is still being used as the ecu is still monitoring all the electronics, the clock and radio codes, the central locking a...

Re: Mk3.5 not starting after battery change

A green indicator does not always mean a 'fully' charged battery. A fully charged battery will put all your dash lights on and throw the starter motor and engine over. A partially charged battery will put your dash lights on and energise the solenoid which would then either 'chatter' or just engage ...

Re: Mk3.5 not starting after battery change

Your battery is flat....charge it up.

Even if it is a new battery there is no saying how long it has been sat on a shelf somewhere.

Re: Steam coming from engine

Get down to your local friendly garage (not a main dealer) and ask them to pressure test your cooling system, it's a very simple job with a hand held pump and a piece of cardboard which should take only a few minuets to do. I have one on my van but it will only fit a large twist/lock rad, (i must up...

Re: Changing mk3 dipped beam bulbs from above

And even if you do it the conventional way by going through the wheel arch liner, you still need to be a double jointed contortionist, bl**dy hands which ever way you do it. This only cements the case for buying good quality bulbs and not cheap e-bay, halfrauds or Chinese as you will have to do it a...

Re: Mx5 mk2.5 2003 wont crank

Congratulations, replace the engine oil and filter if the car has been standing for two years .
Also i would take the wheels and calipers off and wind the pistons in a couple of times, Calipers and pistons have a tendency to corroded 'stick' if not used.

Re: Mx5 mk2.5 2003 wont crank

Corroded starter motor ring terminal and kick wire connection.
What voltage is your battery showing, are the inside of the battery post terminals clean.
Remove check clean and resecure the neg cables.
There are a multitude of possibilities, start with the obvious ones before ripping everything apart.
