MK1 Eunos - Horn Fail

Hello, after failing the MOT for a non working horn I thought I would post this in case someone else might have the same issue. The horn was still working a few weeks ago and is the only of the electric things that I forgot to check before going to the test. Turns out the metal clip which pops out o...

Re: Undersealing/and cavity protection.....and being careful who you use

It is almost new and I have a can of RC900 and 2 of Dinitrol cavity wax. Just wanted to buy the necessary as I don’t have too much room for stuff I don’t need

Re: Undersealing/and cavity protection.....and being careful who you use

Good morning,

how many cans of each product are needed on average? Asking as I have some cavity wax and RC900 already.

Thanks

Re: Undersealing/and cavity protection.....and being careful who you use

Thanks for posting this, very detailed and useful as usual. Do you have any preference regarding products? I have read good things about Dinitrol for cavity wax and rust converter, what about the underseal? The previous owner of my car has applied some product years ago. It now appears to be some ki...

Re: Car won’t start after replacing CAS o’ring and cam cover gasket

Yes.
Replacement CAS will arrive on Friday. In the meantime I am thinking how to test mine.

Found this guide http://www.rivercityroad.com/garage/cas_testing.htm

Don’t have the material to connect to each individual pin yet, once I will I’ll share results.

Re: Car won’t start after replacing CAS o’ring and cam cover gasket

Quick update: I checked if any trouble code was stored. Zero flashes, assuming there is not an issue with that as well. I checked the wires between coil pack and ignite, all fine, no interruption. I checked the voltage at the CAS connector: 0-12-5-5 as it should. I am assuming also that harness is f...

Re: Car won’t start after replacing CAS o’ring and cam cover gasket

I just confirmed that the coil pack has no issue. I inverted everything and had spark from 1-4, connected to the “left side” but not from 2-3. The problem is the white cable going to the side of the coil which fires 2-3 not bringing signal anymore. Is there any chance that a bad CAS only affects two...

Re: Car won’t start after replacing CAS o’ring and cam cover gasket

I checked the coil pack. The wiring between its connector and the coil pack doesn’t show any cut or sign of wear. Resistance between connector pins is slightly lower than 1ohm, which should be correct. The secondary coil resistance between 1-4 and 2-3 terminals is also in line with the specs I found...
