Damp can give issues to a ECU.....but have you tried a OBDII reader yet before we condemn the immobilizer or ECU...it could be a faulty sensor like the cam or crack sensor at fault...

Oh yeah and sorted the the door edges... somewhere along her journey to me someone had put door edge protectors ..well sort of...the drivers side was 6mm or so and was only as far as the indent that runs around the Mk1,s...same length on the passenger side but it was 12mm or so wide....the drivers s...

Great news...i hope you dabed a bit of copper slip on the 10mm crank bolt sensor and on the cable bracket 10mm for next time and on the head as protection.. Did you also make sure the cable that runs back up to the plug is tucked behind the hose that runs off thermostat down to the water pump outlet...

The best advantage of fitting MK 2 units to a MK 1 is that it it makes the ride smoother and comfier with the pot holes, with the Mk1 at the same height and does not lose anything with handling... Now if you want lowered for form but it is also about function,,,have a look at fitting Meister R fully...

This might be a daft question...but are the injectors ok?...are they getting blocked giving a weak pattern.
