Re: Recommendations for rear shocks and springs

Ok, so after the advice given on here I am still considering swapping my complete MK1 set up to MK2. Can I just clarify a couple of points. Will my ride height definitely NOT be affected? ie it won't sit any higher than it does now? I've just been reading Yolo's thread on the suspension swap and he ...

I might be after them as well, how big is the bat cave??[/quote]
Go for it of you're interested in them. I haven't fully decided which way I want to go with the set up yet. It's been great to get the advice though.

Re: Recommendations for rear shocks and springs

Nobody has said this yet which I'm surprised by but you shouldn't change just the rear suspension. If you are changing to a setup different to what's on there now you have to do the full set of front & rear. As Wayne says, Mk2 suspension is a good upgrade. Buy a full set of shocks, springs and ...

Recommendations for rear shocks and springs

Hi all As the ride in my 5 has become increasingly "bouncy" I think it's time to invest in new rear shocks and springs. There's a vast choice out there so I'm trying to get some advice on what to go for. I'm looking at the mid price range and purely for road use. I'm used to the original M...

Coolant/antifreeze question

Hi I want to flush out the old coolant in my roadster and replace with fresh. Could someone recommend a make of coolant/antifreeze to use? I've heard that coolant and antifreeze are different and that I should be using a silicate free product? If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be ...

Sill replacement panels

Hi has anyone ever sourced their own rear arch/sill replacement panels and if so could recommend where to buy them? Not for my car but a friends MK1. I've seen some on eBay which are German manufactured but not sure of the quality or fitment.
Thanks

Re: Centre fascia for double din stereo

Hi Wayne. That reply was quite a blow to be honest. I'm not sure if you remember as it's a long time ago now but I sent you a pm back in September 2012. Ive just found the message as your reply was a shock and I wanted to recall that I had definitely sent it. It was the year that my Mum had been ver...

Re: Centre fascia for double din stereo

I've had a really good look at this at the end of last week and can't see any way of securing the double din cage into the dash. The space is too big and so it just drops down to the bottom of the cubby hole leaving a gap at the top. Pls can anyone help me out with a console that will fit otherwise ...

MK1 radio surround/fascia

Hi Just got a double din stereo but can't get it to fit properly within my current surround. Does anyone have one in excellent condition please? It must have the cubby hole space measuring 19cmx12cm so that the stereo fits in perfectly with no gaps. Happy to come and collect if not too far away. Tha...

Re: Centre fascia for double din stereo

Thanks. Is that the metal bracket which is inside the dash once you've taken the stereo out? I didn't realise you attach it to this. The stereo does have a packet of fixing screws so I'll look again and see if I can attach it. It does come with a plastic surround too but still think there will be a ...
