Re: Mk 3 aircon

Just checked the operation of the Air con on a Mk3 I have sitting outside my house, with the engine running and Air con off, no sign of a fan running. With the engine running and the Air con on there is a distinct draught down by the left hand side of the battery and header tank. My conclusion is th...

Rattle from rear deck area

If you experience a rattle from the rear "parcel" shelf after fitting an aftermarket exhaust, it's normally caused by the support for the shelf knocking on the metal panel underneath it. This can be cured by installing some foam where it touches the metal panel. Firstly remove the centre c...

Re: Mk2 exhaust mid pipe?

Hi,
You could fit one of these,

You'd need to cut the pipe just after the cat to install it...

hope that helps ?

Re: Mk 3 Floor Wet

Bit of an old thread to resurrect, but I thought I'd share a picture of the cause of the water leak in the foot wells on a MK3. The seals around the clips that hold the windscreen scuttle panel screws perish, causing the water to leak in, the clips are cheap enough to buy from MX5 parts and replace ...

Re: clattering noise on acceleration in neutral

Has the water pump been changed ?

A friend of mine fitted a genuine Mazda water pump and after 1000 miles it was rattling....and that noise sounded like it was coming from the top end area.

Drop the alternator belt off and check for any play on the water pump pulley

Re: Rollbar and windblocker fitting advice needed.

I fitted a standard Mk2 wind blocker on our track car that was fitted with a TR Lane bar.....it was a bit of a wiggle to get it in, but it fitted and with a couple of holes drilled in the windblocker bracket, it worked a treat !
