I have been looking for a MK 1 to do a project with, i needed a half descent shell, was not fussed about if the engine worked or not, whether it was an auto or not, was not worried about the interior...

Only 90hp, and it shows, but a lovely 25 year old girl. Soon to have power steering.

This is my 1995 1.8 G-Limited, it was converted to a track car by the previous owner and then has sat idle for several years.

It's got no rust at all but suffered some bad damage to the frame rails, I assume from speed humps and the usual gunk and detritus from being sat outside.

I'm taking it...

I have a niggling problem that I would like to get sorted. Car is a Eunos Roadster. I have noticed that my alternator or the belt has a squeak ( more like a constant chipping noise ). The noise only starts when I either press the brake pedal or put the lights on. And occasionally at first startup....

Following my annual cat converter MOT failure, I have been advised to look into the oxygen senosor and the ecu’s water sensor. Does anyone have an MX5 Tech diagnostic check device near Berkshire that I could come over to check?
I understand that it can read the oxygen sensor and would let me check...

There are some useful posts on here about replacing the heater hoses on MK1s but they mostly seem to have hoses held in place with expansion clips. The problem I have is my heater hoses have been replaced at some time and jubilee clips have been used and the most difficult one to access on the...

Flaking clear coat

It's the only car I've actually waxed a couple of times a year, and for about 7 out of the 10 years I've owned it, it has been garaged from Oct to Mar. Can't afford a respray. 34,000 miles. 3 owners including me. The first, for 19 years, was a multi-millionaire titled Lady. Paint and wheels look great in the pics and from 10 yards. But from 5 yards it seems MiLady should have stopped driving a few years earlier.

I fitted some LED replacement headlights to my Mk1 since the old ones, even with the brightest halogens I could lay my hands on, were still pretty dim. I used these ones from Amazon: . Aware we're already off to a potentially contentious start here... :lol:
