Did you check the earth terminal (body to battery)?

Try removing the main fuse and cheking if it is clean and has no corrosion.

Is the passenger footwell carpet dry? Peel it back an have a feel to be 100% sure. A wet ecu could be a culprit too.

Hi All Thanks for the help, yes bought the suggested pipe mx5 parts nearly 100 notes, new gasket and o ring and changed belts whilst there but all sorted apart from ripped knuckles as per usual. Removed air box and power steering pump which really helped for access....so far so good! have a great w...
