To grease or not to grease?

Ready to replace hubs as part of suspension rebuild, U Tube videos show grease being applied to the stub axle prior to fitting, is this correct?
Does the grease not promote rotation of the race on the axle or does the preloading of the bearing prevent this?

I’m about to do cambelt change on a MK1 1.6 Eunos and will be doing water pump, rad, hoses etc at the same time.

Wondering what’s the best/correct coolant to use? The current stuff in it is a bright green and I’m led to believe is probably Mazda Super Coolant. Can’t find anywhere...

There's oil around the place, and the finger of doom is pointing at the CAS o-ring.

Time to replace it. Not that tricky a job, I managed it and it was the first thing I have done on the engine!

You will need sockets, 10, 12 and 14; torque wrench, pliers.

So the likelihood is that I will fit new bushes to my suspension. I remember getting the old bushes out is a pain? And that poly bushes fit with easy. However, I think the poly bushes will harden up the ride to much (not building a track car). Can I canvass views on...

I've got my first MK1 Auto here, it was having a hard time engaging gears, especially noticeable when reversing out of the drive with a cold engine.

Low ATF it seems: so I topped it up with some Dexron II, approx half a litre...

Do you need a special tool to split the ball joint to replace the steering rack boot, or can it be done with a hammer, never attempted this before??

I'm replacing my ageing Bilstein setup with a new Gaz fixed height coilover setup (yes I did ponder this for some time, but they were well priced and I could justify the same cost again on Meisters!)

What else should I realistically replace while I'm doing this? I have some new bumpstops to go on,...

So my mx5 mark 1 won’t work we thought it was the fuel injectors so changed them but with still no results, when we go to start it the key clunks into position then there’s one clunk from the engine bay and that’s it, can’t hear the starter trying or anything, wonder if we missed plugging something...

I have a 1995 Mazda mx5 1.8l (1839cc) am in need of replacing the fuel injectors am wondering is it worth getting an upgraded fuel injectors bearing in mind that will be the only non stock part, or should I stick to OEM? Any advice would be great!

Had my eunos 6 years but never had aircon checked, it hasn't worked since I bought it though. Is there a way of checking that there is gas/liquid in the system? I've ordered the necessary adapters off eBay to change it from r12 to r134 so I can top up.
But not sure if there's the old stuff...

I've checked connections at head unit and antenna both are fine , wondering wether it may have split somewhere along its length? Where does the lead travel through car? Any ideas to sort this problem...

Just sent the car for MOT and advised that it had failed on emissions again. A new Cat was fitted in April last year and the car has only done max 2500 miles this year. But it failed.
The tester phoned me around 6:00pm and asked me to give it a good run at high revs to get the exhaust hot....

First time having a go at changing spark plugs...what is the best method to adjust the gap. I need to adjust up to recommended 1.1mm feelers set to 1.1wont fit the gap ... Do I just bend gently with pliers? :text-thankyouyellow:

My '91 Roadster has aircon that is currently non-functional. The previous owner assured me that it worked, just needed a re-gas, but then I have heard that once or twice before. I also understand that getting a re-gas on these older systems is a problem as (1) they used a different now obsolete...

Just a quick question to those menders who know the underside of MK1 engines better than I do. Is it the case that more old oil will drain out of the sump if the front of the car is on ramps versus being level? I realise that you'd have to be careful not to overfill when filling up before driving...
