Speedo dial change Mk 1

For Jimmy (popup) but should help others...
Follow the bit in this to remove the cluster if you wish but it can be done without removal...

Once the cluster is out of the roadster you need to seperate the cover from the dials by pressing down the plastics lugs and pressing forward...
There is the early type without a heated rear window connection and the later with....
If you have the later with the HRW then you DO need to remove the illumination bulb pull back the membrane board please be careful not to give to much force to rip it and then push the wire for the HRW connection across from the holding point and pull the cover off with the connection....
Now you need to remove the needle, i just use my fingers but you can use a teaspoon to help...
Then it is removing the dial itself by removing the two x phillips head screws, if the dial lifts out with the plastic clear illumination, don't presume it is stuck to the back of the dial face, just pull it off, it is not glued just age that is keeping it there....
And once the dial is back on it is just a case of resetting the needle, just be careful that you do not press the needle down to far so it catches the dial face.....
