The hard top seals to the side windows can be adjusted to make a better seal on the Mk1 NA and Mk2-2.5 NB..
It is very easy to do and all that is required is a dry day and a medium size philips screw driver....
There is no need to remove the hard top from the roadster to do this..to be honest it is better and easier to be done while it is on...
Open the door and pull the side window seal free from the S/Steel securing frame that is on the hard top ,there is no need to fully remove the seal...leave it attached at the front and rear B post
As you can see below the seal has two ridges for connecting to the s/steel frame
The S/Steel frame is held in place by 6 x small S/steel phillips head screws...
So now just get your medium size screw driver and loosen all the screws, DO NOT remove them...
Next it is a simple case of moving the frame outwards as far as possible. As there is a oval hole in the frame where the fixing screws are, push the frame from the back/inside to move the frame outwards in the oval screw hole. While pushing towards the front tighten down solid the screws working all the way from the front to back...
Once the frame is pushed forward and all the screws down tight again...then it is a case of re fitting the seal into the S/steel frame again. This is done by hinging the seal towards the outside edge and locking the outer ridge on the seal to hook into the outside of the frame, then pushing the seal into the inner ridge which may take a wiggle and push at the same time and work your way all the way along until it is all back in place again....
Close the door with the window up and you should see a marked improvement to how the glass sits against the hard top seal...
And that's it all done.. no more whistling on motorways no more water getting past...
***Foot note****"........ It is recommended to raise/close the window before you close the door.
When bringing a window up from open against the seal with the door shut, while the hard top or soft top is up/on, either by electric or manual mechanisms, the seal may distort and become ruined. This is due to the glass coming up on to the seal from underneath and dragging the seal out of shape....so at the first opportunity you get open and shut the door so it rests against the seal correct. This goes for a hard top or soft top ..
The above hard top seals are very similar to the soft top seals only they split into 3 because it folds down...the seals fit in the same way and adjustment are the same with the split frames and screws,so if the soft top seals are weeping in or noisy..then try and adjust them it costs you nothing but your time....
As is the norm...if there is any question or unsure of anything please ask...it's what we are here for ...

What you put in, you'll get back ten fold
