New member from the Wigan area

Postby CQ20V » Wed May 29, 2019 8:09 pm

Hi all, Just to introduce myself. My name is Andy and i was directed to this site by meeting an existing member (Keith) this last weekend at the Capestone Hall Classic Car show in Cheshire. I've owned my MK1 since April 2018. Its a 1995 1.8 Black V-Spec version 2. The car was re-imported in 2005 and has had 2 previous UK owners to myself. The car is in good condition and fairly standard apart from a stainless single outlet exhaust, some terrible coil overs which need to go and it sits on a set of Mazdaspeed MS-O1R wheels in black (complete with center caps but missing the stainless locking pins!) Hope to get out and about to more shows this summer and am keen to meet other 5 owners.
Cheers Andy

Hi - thank you for all the replies - will try and upload some pics. Did a bit of audio improvement today - managed to add an amp to my MSSS2 head unit as the OEM 12W amp just wasn't able do deliver any sort of audible sound with the hood down. Very happy now - OEM looks but i can now hear my Chris Rea TAPE! LMAO - I know - but i like old school. Cheers Andy

Hi all - pics as requested. I have just ordered some meister sportive coil overs which i hope to fit in the coming weeks. From the pics you can see its in quite good nick - needs some cleaning and detailing but i'll hopefully get round to that. Weirdly when i attach the pics they turn upside down - perhaps someone from admin can sort it? Cheers Andy (Done  )

I see a grey MK1 with a grey hardtop on most days going down miles lane when i'm on the school run - is that anyone on here?

Certainly looks like you have a full fleet of 5's there to keep you busy. I notice the silver one has a rear valance spoiler - did that come on the car or is it something you've fitted and if so do you remember where you got it from? Cheers Andy

Meister sportives arrived today - fitted one this evening - will get the rest done Saturday - annoyingly the anti roll bar mounting bracket bolt - went that far through the bracket that the protruding thread stopped the top wishbone bolt coming out - and the anti roll bar bolt was a pig to slacken without snapping it or damaging the air con pipes - but its done and i'm happy - they are very shiny - lol.
