Hello from Bucks ! Mk1 Wanted

Postby mk1TW » Sat May 14, 2016 1:53 pm

Hi all,

Looking like a great forum so have signed up ready to acquire the new steed... I already have a big german derv daily and a motorbike for pure fun, the mx5 is a need though to add to the collection and learn a bit more about cars and tinkering!

I'm desperate for a MK1 Eunos 1.8 Manual, will consider a 1.6 if it's the right car, mods welcome e.g. Suspension, Exhausts, Air intakes.

Ideally nothing rotten and clean / fixed already. Have the cash waiting and have been looking for 4 months now!

Many thanks,

Tom

The only thing i would say is do not let your heart rule your mind, the MK 1 was by far the best to get as it was over engineered as a roadster and is standing the test of time which is all credit to the designers, but the MK 1 is getting on and a lot have not been looked after in the way they should of been and most would of passed through many owners hands, so don't rush, the one you want will raise her head.
Personally i have always swung for the import, there are more versions and specs to choose from with more extras as standard...any idea where you mind view sits in looks?
If you can lift a spanner we can help on keeping her right and on the road.

welcome to menders buddy.

Thanks M-M, I will certainly be along your way should the need arise!

I completely agree, mk1 import is exactly what I want for a bit of backroad fun. Excuse the pun!

I'm not worried how it looks (Suspension would be a bonus if it's already sorted and not seized! Meister coilovers are gorgeous!! Wheels, roll bar, exhausts, clean engine bay, would all be of added bonus. Plus cheaper if I can buy a car already sorted haha.

Will want a steering wheel too (330mm?) and then just have fun really! Lack of rust would be nice!

Cheers.

I meant looks as in spec, as there are so many to personally choose from, once this is fixed it helps a search.

I'll take any half decent Eunos 1.8 buddy! V-Spec etc would be a bonus! Not keen on Merlot or laguna blue colours - rules out some S specials haha, would love a Black / White / Silver though!

What updates? Where in Bucks are you. I'm in south Buckinghamshire (near Gerrards Cross) so if you're near i could help with the search too.
