Mazda-Menders

Just joined today. Have a 1991 Eunos. Not had the car that long and new to Mx5 ownership. Have a Land Rover Defender 110 as main mode of transport. Struggling with the Mazda's brakes at moment but hopefully getting there. Will post some pictures ssoon.

Welcome buddy...there is a great walk through guide on here if needed on the brakes.....whats wrong with them..

Thanks for the welcome. Main issue at the moment is a stopping problem,the pedal coming up and the brakes slowly coming on and binding after a few miles.Have had refurbed rear callipers fitted and now having some new discs and pads done. Also doing the same to the front and fitting new flexibles.Hope this might help the situation. They are ok sometimes. Thought it it would not do any harm to sort the basics out first. Then if no joy look at master cylinder and then servo. Got to know about you guys from Andrew at Autolink. He has been great.So here I am. Will search for the guide you mention. Cheers.

Of all the cars I have owned and worked on, I find the brakes on the original mk1s the easiest to sort, as Mm says some good tutorials on the site but dont be afraid to ask.

They really just need servicing correct and you should not get any problems, the walk through guide explains it all buddy, flexible hoses will stop hose expansion under braking making sure the fluid is delivered straight, if the brakes are not serviced correct and sticking they will not stop the issue, invest in a tub of red rubber grease and copper slip and follow the guide, if you get stuck ,,,,shout, we are not far away.

Jobs on brakes done now and everything seems to have settled down nicely. Car seems so much freer. Refitted the refurbed calipers from last year with new discs and pads and flexibles on the rear and did the same on the front. Also replaced a handbrake cable. Thanks for your advice and interest, much appreciated.
