Hi everyone,
I'm David, new to the forum but not new to MX5s. I had a 1996 Gleneagles special edition from 1997 to 2006, by which time it had 128,000 on the clock and was seriously rusty. Instead of fixing it, I traded it in - big mistake! In 2008 the MX5 withdrawal symptoms were getting too bad and I bought a low mileage 1997 model, one of the last NAs and a distinctly no frills example - no power steering, cloth seats, etc. It regularly does about 4000 fun miles a year, so still has only done 83,000. It's no concours winner, but solid, reliable car. It had new front wings a few years ago, and new rears last year, but otherwise gets nothing but regular servicing. I'm in my mid-60s, so don't tend to get underneath cars so much now, but hope still to be enjoying MX5 driving for many years to come. The North Coast 500 last summer was a highlight.
Cheers,
David
What you put in, you'll get back ten fold

Re: Hello from the Scottish Borders
Welcome to the fun from the Yorkshire coast.
Scottish borders, been there for a touring holiday as well as tackling the 7 Staines.
Did the NC500 before it became a recognised route, and hope to go back and do it again. Will be up on the west coast come September. So as Mm says, pop up some pickies of the old girl.
