Hah winter top down runs with the great heater are worth the effort. Company is called Bilt Hamber. They make wax, polish etc plus anti corrosion products. From my experience of the last 10 years they tend to be excellent quality and even better value. The Auto-balm wax I used for example has anti corrosion additives so great for keeping stone chips etc. at bay.

Today's task was Dinitrol 3125 in box sections, arms etc. Also some decent sill drain holes!

More rust treatment/prevention today. Started cleaning off sills, repairs, arches, suspension & floor. Hurrah confirmed front rails have been done :) Found nothing bad or unexpected! Covered in rust converter and will apply epoxy primer tomorrow. Other side another time.

A day to myself so time to get the little red un ready for this years adventures.

Tyre pressures checked then the car was dropped down off the blocks to bear her own weight.

Onto the 3in1 lift and jacked up to check the underseal, nothing to report as all looks good. Drain holes on the sills checked and clear. (Advice from MM) Brakes all stripped down and redbuilt. A quick bleed to all calipers in the process. Checked all ball joints etc and all looks fine.

Car started on the first crank, ran her till she was warm then dropped and changed the oil and coolant after a really good flush.

She is back on the ground now and ready to go for for a fresh tank of fuel and another day off to get out on the road.

Well it was that time of the year again. Car went for MOT and of course preliminary fail on emissions. After 20 miles of 5500+ RPM , exhaust was nice and hot and it passed with ease. all good for another year. Would love to find a "proper" cat converter. Any thoughts ? I usually spend £90'ish for 1 perhaps 2 years use.
Anyway happy chappy for now.

Fit a decat..free her up a bit and refit it 2 weeks before MOT...and a ticket..remove it re-fit the decat... That way the cat is only used for two weeks a year so lasts for a long time ...win win.

Perhaps a decat may be a bit too loud along with my current exhaust. I was wondering about a high flow cat, anybody got experience - stories ?

I am getting fed up with the lottery come MOT time. I wouldn't mind but when the cat is HOT it seems to perform well.

This week is chassis rail week on the California. O/S now done, just needs final paint coat. N/S is all cut out, hopefully get it welded up tomorrow. I have had the MM repair sections for at least two years, but didn’t get a welder until last year.

Today I have put our mx back to sleep next to the motorbike.

Cant see me using either for a couple on months despite now time on my hands.

With all the HGV testing stations bring shut, and covid19 shutdowns we have had loads or work cancelled.

So more time to catch up on a number of build threads and how to's. Beats gardenjng
