What have you done to your MX5 today/yesterday?

Thought I'd start a general thread so we can all show each other what we have been up to.

I'll start.

With the help of Rising Sun remote central locking was fitted to my Sport on Saturday

Image

Jane wanted LED's in the doors the same as Mrs Rising Sun has, but I bought really long ones by mistake, having said that they look the nutz

In daylight, nothing to see

Image

But at night, wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a great fettling day and we also had an audience, Team Buccaneer5 MotorSport and a very, very rare and totally mint LeMans.

Yesterday -nothing as every time I thought about nipping outside it started to pour with rain.

Today-taken delivery of another box of bits. Mostly boring service stuff, in preparation for the Cambelt change and service.

Also tried to sort out a new battery as although it was replaced before I got the car it was with the wrong sort which doesn't fit properly. At the moment it is wedged in with a couple of bits of polystyrene so far from ideal. Fortunately the clamp, hold down bolt and vent tubes are all still in the boot, although I did have to add a battery tray on my last Autolink order as they had broken the original.

Must get it sorted soon as the Autotest season is nearly upon us and it won't get through scrutineering with the battery unsecured. (one of the few things they check)

It will be interesting to see if I can remember how to handbrake turn a RWD car properly -FWD is easy :D

Cam cover gasket replaced (easy), K&n filter fitted (super easy) and cam sensor o ring replaced (complete ar*e of a job)

Getting the tangs to line up even after marking outer with pencil was a horror show, 5 min to remove, 2 min to replace o ring, 90 min getting it back in

But she is back on the road and that is all that matters :D

The good thing about having a "normal" car for day to day driving is that I don't have to use the 5 in poor weather. The bad thing is that I just don't use the 5 enough.

Just waiting to fix my mk1 with its un-opening drivers door stood on the drive. Could only stay in doors and look out the window as the heavens took the p**s out of the drought. Note to myself....I really must make the effort to empty the garage!
