Hiring out Hard tops?

Postby Mazda Mender » Wed Oct 25, 2017 10:20 am

A lot of owners need or want to use a Hard top for winter but don't have the storage space afterwards,

I was thinking about hiring them out over winter for those owners at a fixed monthly cost and a deposit to cover the HT which will be returned at the end of hire.

It would cover a new HT should there be any damage etc or they run off into the sunset and I can re-place with another,,,,
Feed back please,,, what's the opinions...keep them nice ;0)

Great idea Wayne. To be honest I'm not sure why this isn't done already. As you said, having space to store a hardtop in summer is a major barrier for a lot of people, so if you can get rid of that then you'll make them a lot more accessible.

The only part that I can see being tricky is working out the deposit amount, for instance, would that be the full cost of a hardtop (£350 or so?) as that might limit its appeal, but I can absolutely see why it's needed.

We used to do this in a roundabout way. We'd sell someone a hardtop at the beginning of October and guarantee to buy it back in March, we had a few customers that did this, they couldn't be fussy about colour though.
Regards.

Well lets look at the cost of a good HRW HT....£350.00 to £400.00, if something happens or the owners does one, your out of pocket and you need to replace it... i would not become a millionaire from hiring these out, more of trying to help.
So lets say £25 an month so 5 months to march which is... = £125.00 so deposit of £275.00 which they get the full deposit back in march as long as they still have it and no damage,,,i am covered,,,they are covered .( well the roadster will be ;0) )
