I will get used to the change if it's forced, but why does the original layout have to be removed? It's working with the two new ones at present.

OK, I give up, its OK the lighter style but I am now suffering from snow blindness :-D , its a little bit bright, if it can be dumbed down a bit, maybe a little more blue or grey that would be good.

Hey I like the lighter version. I guess it could be toned down a bit but definitely prefer it to the darker version.

How does the lighter look burn peoples eyes out, but the original look doesnt :s

As for toning down, try turning the brightness/contrast down?

Because its not consistant with the new designs and so will add to the maintenance load even for the most trivial things. E.g when updating the cars a star picture its got to be done twice. One for the new looks, and again for the old look.

Imagine the time wasted if a much more complicated fix/feature needs to be added. Not to mention the addition time required to test and ensure two looks are working correctly.

I have to agree with Andrey, more work is not a good idea, especially as we all run this site as a hobby in our spare time. At the end of the day none of us like change and new members will know no difference.
