Wadding/ Soundproofing material?

Postby steffydog » Fri Apr 19, 2013 5:51 pm

Not sure about its name, but as I'm about to replace the upper and lower gear shift boots, I've noticed that the Mazda wadding, is a bit tired looking.

I'm guessing its a kind of sound proof, deadening material that sits above this:

Does anyone have any ideas of what to use, or just pop the old stuff back and forget it, I could give it a nice hand wash in some Persil :) just to freshen it up a tad. .

It's generally known as 'automotive underlay' and is fairly cheap by the metre.

A place that supplies car parts to mechanics. Most have a counter for the public, too.
If you generally head straight to halfrauds, look up in your yellow pages under motor factors you'll find the real thing with anything you need, at normal prices and with knowledgeable staff.
