Brake Pads Reference

Postby binarypunk » Wed Nov 27, 2013 12:54 pm

What brake pads do you need?

There are 3 types of pads for the early cars:

1) Mk1 1.6 only
2) Mk1 1.8, Mk2/2.5 1.6/1.8
3) Mk 2.5 Sports Brakes

The choice of brand is a personal preference and based on budget and usage:
- OEM Mazda pads are excellent for most road users and are not all that expensive
- Blueprint make excellent pattern parts for budget buyers and are usually available from your local motor factor
- There are also various types/brands aimed at 'fast-road' and track usage, but are generally not great for daily driver use

If in any doubt, call Autolink and they will be able to advise you and supply the correct pads for your needs.
