2004 1.6 Mk2.5 Cambelt Change

Postby drumtochty » Mon May 04, 2015 9:37 am

i'm doing a full service in a few weeks time on a 35,000 mile car so 11 years old.

Changing everything including the cambelt, do I change the water pump at the same time while I'm in there and the only reason for saying no is the low mileage.

Thoughts guys.

Personally i recommend doing both , rule of thumb is 6 years or 60,000 miles regardless, i would tell them it needs changing to.

Agreed if for no other reason they would say you gave it a full service last year and the water pump is leaking.

So while I'm in there I'll do the water pump.
