This is really quite difficult. I've got a modified (non MX5 - road going hillclimb car) and found it almost impossible to get insurance for road cover, even third party. The only company I could find had a 3000 mile restriction which meant I'd not even be able to attend the events I plan to enter this year...

Good luck....

thanks. You'd think the MSA/HSA would be of some help as their rules stipulate you need road cover!!! :angry-cussingblack:

You are right about that... It suprises me that a specialist insurer hasn't got hold of this and created a policy that only gives road cover to and from an event....

Cheapest I got was from Tower Gate.... If you are a BARC member, they had a scheme but I couldn't find any details when I came to re-insure...

Trouble is you can't drive the car there without the road cover and if you don't drive it to the event or on the road at any other time AND don't tell the insurance company of the modifications, technically the car's not insured so you break the rules anyway....

Try REIS, not sure if they can help but at least you speak to a person and not a keyboard. Ask for Steve

I'm a happy bunny!
CCI above just quoted me (fully comp, with EVERYTHING, based on a £10k build cost)
£387 for 210bhp
£457 for up to 350bhp
based on <3000 miles PA UK and EU
