***** THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE SITE AND HELPING YOU,OTHERWISE IT CLOSES AND ALL THIS ON LINE GARAGE IS GONE FOR GOOD*****
Greetings and welcome to menders, this site was built for every owner that might need her to help keep those bills low and also keep them on the road where they belong, she is run by very passionate enthusiasts owners for passionate enthusiastic owners, see her like a on line garage, there is a lot of tech stuff hopefully explained for everyone to use, if there is something you cannot get your head around, or you feel that there is a strong walk through guide missing that needs creating by one of us or from yourselves, please let us know, we are also on false book and youtube, which as short tech vids to help, and again if you feel there is a vid that would help please get it touch.
the menders is free, but like everything there is a cost to run things and bills( we are just happy its not a heating cost), so if we have saved you hundreds, please throw a small donation in the pot so we can keep on going to carry on helping others in the same way .
*** we are currently looking for a sponsor for this year, so if you have the passion and can see this sites worth to everyone , please get in touch and step forward to help***
And thank heavens that we are now on the way back up the brighter ,warmer longer days, "come on summer", and lets see those project builds.

Re: Pictures
What camera do you use Flea?
I used my Canon EF100-400 for the MX5 pics but have also used a variety of kit, manual focus, Bridge and even a compact (just to see if I could do it).
A lot these days depends on how close you can get but technique is more important than the kit.
Not sure if I will go down for the Sunseeker as I think my club are running the service area so not that much opportunity for action stuff.
We do have a meeting in May that might be of interest. We are holding a two day sprint on 26th-27th at Crystal Palace, the oldest racing circuit in the Country.

Re: Pictures
Lots more but Tracey's was the only MX5. She still competes with the MK 1 but has traded in the Arctic for an Elise. Mind you I still prefer her other car an E-type
And if that wasn't enough her other half also sprints an Elise and has a modified Frog Eye, and an Ultima amongst other things (jealous moi-yep )
Should be more at our next event there, which is an Autosolo.
And here is another pic

Re: Pictures
First thing to do is to find a local motor club that runs Autotests. I would stick to Grass rather than Tarmac tests as they are a lot kinder to the car (and tyres!)
Have a look here to find a club:-
http://www.gomotorsport.net/en-GB/default.html
It will cost you the price of club membership and the entry fee-I pay £15-£20 for club subscription and £5-£12 per event entry.
You would be welcome to attend one of our (Sevenoaks Motor Club) events but Brands Hatch is a bit of a trip, and I would imagine there must be something a bit closer.
If you want to know any more please ask

Re: Pictures
Just found this thread and its as good a place as any.
This is me back in 2001 at harewood hilclimb. Oh those were the days.
Here is a link to Harewood Hillclimb history. Didnt know this site existed until today.
http://harewoodhillhistory.co.uk/
Edit. The ex sister in law ran this beauty and I later bought it. Very sadly now sold on.
And finally my Brothers Caterham. Running a 1.6 vauxhall tigra engine on throttle bodies, a full race engine with 225 bhp and 10,000 rpm redline. He won 13 out of 15 races in its 1st year. A propper weapon !!
All from 2000/2001
