So i found a MK 2 strut brace that was in need of some fettling, i was going to strip and re-spray a OE MK 1 brace red after leaving the red one i did on the White Mk 2 VS i built and sold.... but glad i found the OE MK 2 brace as once fitted it is just as easy to change the oil filter without removing it, the OE braces are different from the Mk1,mk 2 and 2.5's, there were not many MK 2 braces made so are becoming harder to get hold of as are the OE MK 1 braces now, MK 2.5 braces are still easy to get. most aftermarket ones are rubbish even more so the cheap bay of e ones...

Any way more of a cosmetic thing for me with this one For my MK 1 VS II, everything stripped and prepped ready for paint...gold on the nuts ,bolts and washer , Mk 1 SU classic red for the brace, gold spray can from Aldi and SU and clear coat ordered, took a chance with the temp at this time of year, which i was lucky with...

My good lady got me a Mk 4.......remote control build it kit, so it is a roadster build ...yes????which is to go with the Mk 1 i built many moons ago, my god there were some parts with this, the only snag i hit was on the build up and fit of the front suspension...so for anyone building one of these...on the build up of the rear suspension the instructions show that you need to use the spacer F4 on the bottom strut to wishbone....but it does not show that you need to fit the F5 spacer to the strut on the top other wise it does not sit straight and is not shown in the instructions...i have amended and will add pics for anyone needing them...
More to come as i add all the electrics and paint etc...

I have been trying to find an induction tubing for my Mk 1 1.8 and my lads Mk 1 1.6 for a good while and there is nothing out there for the MK 1s, although there is a well over price arc chamber tube or the jackson racing for the 1.6 at ridiculous prices s/hand, there are plenty of induction are filters that either use the OE air box and panel filter or remove the air box and add a aftermarket cone type filter but you still need to use the OE trunking which is the route we went down a long time ago, The NB and FL have plenty around to fit but is not a direct fit to the MK 1.8 as it all sits in a different space and angles... so mind set i wanted induction trucking for both MK 1's.
I bought two aftermarket kits off the bay of E to mess with for the NB and FL version ( which wrongly states on some that it fits a MK 1 1.8 so be mind full) and Mr Colin Moon sorted me out a typhoon system to butcher , so that in mind out came the tools and bits to fabricate it all to fit or die for queen and country...

Well with some grinder work and drilling adding a tail end and sealing up whats not needed a fresh breather off the rocker cover and clips, i got it to work, using the typhoon system and a half piece of one of the aftermarket kits and it fits lovely does not catch anything and fitted to my apexi filter,,,, the pick up is even better again, i am 80% there with fabricating the one for the 1.6 MK 1, but more on that later...

Just need to paint it candy red in summer now .

Waiting for the update on the fix for a mk1 1.6 ??

You would have thought that someone would have fabricated a kit for the mk1 by now.
1993 1.6 Eunos Roadster (gone)
1998 UK Mk 2 1.6 (gone)
2003 1.8 SVT Sport (shouldnt have sold it)
1991 1.6 Eunos Roadster with a bit of bling.

Life is a journey, best travelled topless in an MX5!!

When i get it all into the correct shape and all the connections in place and working...i will look into getting solid copies made up for both and may look into getting some made for sale.

Sorry this big lump at the bottom of the pipe. Don't know what it is for, but looks properly designed for something.

Its all for the volume of air needed for the standard set up, and stops it getting bogged down at mid range etc, where as now it is having a rev with free flow air and goes like a stabbed rat.
