Service carried out on Sunday the 27-08-23 on the MK 1 black blur.
Engine flush, new oil and filter, fuel filter, Aux belts and new plugs, now i did fit some iridiums and found that over the last 12 months, she does not like them, so really not a lover of them, although i do recommend them for boosted roadsters, so dropped in some denso plugs, they were to hand on the shelf to get.
Running and pulling far better, also had her alignment re done from fitting 10mm spacers, true faith as she is glued to the road again and in the corners :bow-yellow: :-D ....

Finally gotten around to make the scratch better ... due to the thanks of a van driver for not thinking of any one else in the world as you barged your way through and making a quick maneuver for less damage to happen...Any way it looks a lot better than it was until i can find the time to get her in to have it done correct, thank you Aldi for the weekly mag, and the sky daddy for giving us some great weather again...

Mk 1 black blur as been in for MOT, and Tony pointed out a couple of things that had already been sorted , or so i thought? the steering rack boots have split again? and TRE boots, now these were not replaced that long ago, so the quality of these items must now be rubbish, i'll do them through the xmas break, but a p*ss none the less, i also need to investigate a couple of other things i have noticed, diff seal what doing, she feels crashy for some reason after new tyres and alignment? engine flush and fresh oil as i tried the liquid molly engine flush and the hydrophilic tappets in all the years of ownership after this rubbish have never been this noisy at cold start, so tin of wynns best and resort, also we change the rear passenger caliper and handbrake lever and she losses handbrake bite slowly( travel) and gets brake travel after about 4 weeks or so? there is no leaks as we checked the last time we bled the system again to get perfect bite back?
I'll be taking the ignition switch apart for a good clean and topping up the battery while she is sat.
Hard top as started whistling after 70 after hitting a pot hole? so i'll take it off a re seat and set it, also change the latches at the same time.
The pilot bearing is noisy which is new? so i'll do that in summer as everything needs to come off to do it.
My jacking points on the drivers side on the floor pan are showing signs of age ,so come summer i'll cut out and add fresh.
I am looking at swapping out my MK 1 seats and fitting some 2.5 seats and doing the headrest speaker conversion to the rear panel( summer time).
Engine bay clean, swap the bumper mask and a general clean, polish and buff up.
I am sure other bits will raise their heads as i work through the list, but she is an old car now and being so will always need some form of attention somewhere.
Just thought i would share my list , as its been a while on updates.
Have a great xmas/new year break everyone.

Sounds like its going to be a proper Mazda Menders Christmas at yours with a few New Years jobs to keep you busy.

My plan for 2024 is to fit the all new front suspension and sort out a cat by pass pipe.

Keep on mending buddy.

So engine as been blasted as she will need to sit on the OC stand at the NEC in march when we or on show attacking a MK 1 G reg import, so i'll need to do the polishing thing  , seats have been changed to some Mk 2.5 leather montana high tomb stone set , which are a lot comfier ,but still on the search for a cloth set local, speakers have been moved from the MK 1 headrest seats, and they sound so much better ( guide on how to do it being built as we write) ,she as had an engine flush and fresh oil and filter.
The whistling as been cured and i am also building a guide on that as we speak ,as it will start to effect more as age and body flex does what it does. :???:
