Drove up to Wayne mansion today with the trailer to collect the Black un after it's refurb by the spanner man himself.

I was like a kid with a new toy, totally transformed my thrashing five to being well lubed and dry inside doesn't seem right to thrash it anymore :text-thankyouyellow:

:text-thankyouyellow: Thanks Bud for all your efforts and making the Black un a Five again :text-thankyouyellow:

We have some lanes that have some lift offs and big dips, with the old set up you would have to drive her and be careful on the dips but now it is just effortless, glides over the yumps and doesn't fall into the dips it is just so much better, I did like my Rokkors but mostly because they were raw but now it is more smooth. Put the zip back into the window and closed the roof no problem, well chuffed. :text-thankyouyellow:

When the Black un was at Wayne mansion a dull film formed on the boot lid and now having her back home I gave it some TLC to see if she would shine again. Maybe it was fallout from the pie's :bow-yellow:

First job was to wash with the jetwash to remove any particles of dirt before TWO bucket washing using a Lambswool mitt.
Used Auto Finesse Rejuvenate:

Rejuvenate contains deep cleansing solvents, glazing oils and fine diminishing abrasives. These remove stubborn contaminates, oxidation, and light swirling to create the perfect wax-ready finish. Just like its brother Tough Prep, Rejuvenate works very quickly, polishing the paintwork to a high gloss. The main difference is, Rejuvenate leaves behind glazing oils. Its deep, rich, wet finish is perfectly suited to darker finishes, especially bold solid colours like red and black.

The finished photo is a good reflection and ready for waxing.

Ian, your black Un is looking smart, like those wheels. I can see Wayne working hard on mine in your pics, that made me chuckle.

Wayne wrote:All back from HW moons Toyota in Wigan from the full alignment and all good but Mike spotted a coolant weep the weep turned out to be from the bottom rad hose which looks like it as been doing it for a while, nipped up the pipe clips and all good again,

After a spirited bit of driving last Sunday my better half noticed a puddle coming from the front near side, opened the bonnet to find the weep still there from around the bottom hose area. Took a good look today after removing the under tray, made easy peasy as Wayne had greased all the bolts and replaced the broken ones too.

Found the bottom hose was split in more than two places, now that it all flowing correctly and up to pressure the hoses are being tested more. Wayne did suggest the new kevlar hoses I put on three years ago are not as good as the OE ones and he is spot on, fortunately I had another kevlar one in the shed and that has now solved the problem, on looking closely at the top hose it may be starting to split too so looking out for a set of OE hoses and replace the lot.

Been an interesting three weeks with the Black un.

Set off early on Sunday morning 23rd March to go on a OC Club run got 45 minutes from home and doing 60 ish she suddenly cut out, stopped, no warning. Coasted to a junction and turned it over and over nothing dead as a dodo. Got her upto Wayne mansion to find the CAS 'cam angle sensor' had just given up the ghost.

Last weekend 4/5th April did nearly 600 miles never missed a beat.

Today went down to visit family at Tewkesbury took the Black un rather than the Mk3 Sport got to a car park and reversed into a spot and saw something leaking as there were drops on tarmac. Opened the bonnet, water everywhere. Found the small hose from the thermostat Y to the inlet manifold was the culprit, managed to cut the split bit off and off we went. Just glad to see those drops on the ground before I roasted another block.
