Deans mk1 Eunos project

Postby Dean m » Sat May 30, 2015 4:13 pm

So I have recently bought a mk1 Eunos that was going to be a kit car doner. However after a fun B-road drive home and thinking of the added practicalities I have decided to keep the Eunos.
But I need to sort out some rust issues first.

I have just completed a ten week beginners welding course at night school, so hopefully this will stand me in good stead for getting this back on the road!

Started by opening up the rear portion of the sills what a mess it was, the outside is only a hint of how bad things had got inside the sill structure.

It extend up in to the inner rear arch and all the way to the front arch

Thanks Yolo, I'm really enjoying this little project, my first time at car body work repairs, these little cars really get under your skin don't they and I've only been able to drive it a couple of times (all with a big grin on my face of course)

Oh forgot here are some pictures of the rot when I cut the outer sill off.

Thanks for the positive comments.
Hopefully tonight at work I will be fabricating my inner sills.
Fujikun do you have a thread on your car? It would be a great help to see how others have tackled similar issues.
