Finally found to good OE wings for her , these ones i bought through FB are binning material and the gent after a drawn out back and forth by messages as seen it fit to return the cash paid, more on that later...

All the surface rust/rust as been been eradicated and paint added ready for the undersealing and cavity wax, which all will be done bar the rear sill and arches while the new repair panels are being added/replaced and then finish off, but with being able to add underseal i can start to put her back together again solid and all bolted back up.

Also did the fuel filter while in there...

Bit more done over the weekend on her...joint seams resealed at the screen frame and the reRar wing outer skin all cut and prepped ready to weld into place on the rear passenger side, as we were flappy disking down we could now really start to see the story of this side, i had replaced the doors some time back and mentioned before that we were reshaping from a impact in its life so far, we cut more off and you can still clearly see where the weld pins have been to pull the panel back out, but was then handed over to f**k it and bog it man with the amount of filler ,which was also clear from the micro blisters, there was a lot of dust and the whole wing will need to be flattened back again and re done right, she will be getting a full hit of paint any way so toying with the soul red of the Mk4 or the MK 3 colour with a gold fleck in? we'll see as i was also looking at cherry red with a fleck, possibly dark cherry red???any way we panel shaped ,beat the outside OE part of the wing into shape again and the door gap correct again, it had had this impact at some point which had also hit the door, repaired (badly ) and then have another scrap as we could see the layers of paint and filler .
The panel is clamped into place on the lips of the arch and masking tape on the seam for welding so it will not catch anything until next weekend, bare metal as been sprayed with a weld coat so it will not rust and the wing as a galvanized finished any way.....

Good old covid and lock downs...this came to a halt also while pulling away to sort everyone else's..
Any way spotted a new wooden steering wheel for this build...and ordered a short boss and quick release for it all....

I have been kept busy sorting out both sons cars and the wifes Fiesta for MOTs and associated repairs.

All sorted now.

Just need some better weather to make a start of getting the MX ready for the summer!!!!!!

I have an important announcement to make to anyone interested in owning any of the personal renovation/revamp/ updated / tastefully modified personal builds I have or am in the process of creating or to come, that are fully done ready to use and last, any body work that is seen fit to address will be done and logged for viewing thanks to Map body shop in Wigan by Steve Pemb and mally....you will need to go through Goodwood Sports cars , Mr S Bloxham him self who will be happy to take your calls etc if interested, I can of course answer any questions you may have on any of them if needed, but the build threads are all on the forum live and are updated as and when with nothing to hide as well as on this profile page, I will be handing over a number of roadsters to Mr Bloxham to stroke and lick as he sees fit, any one wishing to view any of the projects in the flesh are more than welcome if wished as long as you bring jammy Dodgers.

So Saturday was the day picked to do the nasty, and like a first class n*b head i had this great idea " do you know what, while all the gear is out i'll do the little red roadster at the same time", that turned out to be a massive mistake for later on that evening.
After a long morning from a early start of prepping and getting ready, they were both ready for attack, and it was a roasting hot day, perfect for a overalls, mask,goggles, hat under cars , so i hit the red un first, I can safely say with hand on heart, that I will never be doing two in the same day ever again in my life time from here on in, it was hard going and i felt the aftermath that evening and still can, but a hard process done and out of the way.
I assumed wrongly that it was going to be a corker all day, but the clouds started to drift over and were starting to get darker, so on consulting the weather guess forecast, it had changed to rain at 8pm, my lad was called out for the mission of "We need to get this lot away fast and covered up" we rushed around like headless chickens to get the bumpers on, wings and nose cones, wheels, covered over and put everything away until tomorrow..( See the G ltd build).
The red un will be put back together during this week, will update as i go...

Only managed to do a little bit to her at the minute with the Sspec and G ltd nipping at my heals , but some bits re added underneath, the front loom re secured and connected, horns etc re fitted, impact bumper guides re added and the impact bumper, fresh passenger front wing added from Autolinkmx5 after nicking it for the G ltd to get sorted with paint.

Did a bit on the Little red roadster...the front bumper bracket was "ok" with a bit of rust here and there as to was the weather strip ,so I cannot not have that after how deep this build as become...so off it all came and sorted, back together and on the roadster, built up the front end...what a lovely hot day for paint to be baked quick...the best bit is you won't see any of it when the slam panel is bolted into place again, but I'll know it's all clean and fresh ;0)... more tomorrow...

Little bit more done in between everyone else's ....

Managed to clean up the arch liners and all fittings including front mud guards , de rusted all the screws and painted then all fitted up with lube for any future removal, also fitted the slam panel and cut a plate of S/steel for the number plate and fitted it.....

She is back on the floor and all back together waiting for her turn to the trip to the body shop to be painted soul red, i'll work on the electrical add ons etc while she awaits her turn and swap out the 1.6 brake set up for the 1.8 set up.....

Also( Simply because it is lower down in these build thread) finished painting, resealing the US low pro lights ready to refurb the frames and re add them all together again, which will be up for grabs as they will not be needed now..

Should of added that the zorst and cat are back on, after also ordering 4 x cat nuts , as i must of used them on one of the other builds?....

Just a quick up date as we turn our thoughts to getting her finished, she is being partly stripped to go and get her new coat of paint next week ,which we have gone for soul red ( 41v or 46v) the mazda Mk 4 colour as we know the compo with the beige interior and hood will be ace and a lovely little thing to use and look at, the paint will show off the curves really well and she will pop in the sun.
I will post up the process as she goes as the new outer rear passenger panel still needs welding into place and the drivers will be cut open to and sorted where needed, screen out the works as normal with ste from Pro bodyworkz, then back to me for finishing , alignment and MOT, then off to ste at goodwood sports cars, any questions please get in touch , i will be more than happy to chat and answer anything , don't try to hassle me with prices, thats why ste is dealing with the sale side, and is open to serious sensible questions to, if you offer stupid, i will say no, so do not insult my time, experience and knowledge regardless of her going up for sale, she is not paying bills so will not be low balled and needs to go to the correct owner for me personally as with them all i build, its not just about selling a car.

Someone asked why there as been no up dates since august ...well....there was two other builds that took priority, plus everyone else that needed my help with theirs and the fact that my father was on his last months of his time running out with us , so my head was else where than with cars, so now my head is back in the zone and this is one roadster i am building i will be deeply sad to see go because of why it was being built in the first place , so a search for a white one starts to build for the little angel my wife and me made to start again, in the mean time a 1.6 J ltd waved at me on the web for help thats not white but yellow, so another save from poor to better than new starts on her to, i am also on the look out for a 1.8 S/spec for another project in my head that i need to see in the flesh, so actively searching for a white 1.6 import and a 1.8 import, if anyone notices any.
