Still alive :-)

But it has been very cold recently. I managed to get the new manifold heatwrapped and installed. Also a brand new cat in stainless.
It is so quiet now, i guess i have to install a new loud muffler soon.Image
Found a nice tonneau cover, love the sleek look.
Trying to get all sorts of small jobs sorted on the car, with what i have laying around. Funds are running a bit low at the moment, so i will have to hone my fabrication skills :-)
Oh and here is my new co- driver, arriving next week.Image

Thanks blacky, it means a lot to me
By the Way, i found a working cure for the mix of dintrol, old leaves and general s... In the engine bay: spray with heavy duty degreaser, agitate with brush leave for 15 min. And finaly pour several pots of boiling water over the infected area. In the last picture to the right you can clearly see, that the last pot was used for my coffee

The speaker grills were in a sorry State. So i cut 2 pieces of oak on my milling machine, put in a piece of stainless mesh and hit gently with a big hammer untill flush. Trim the edges with a tin snip, a Dab of epoxy and voila :-)
Grilles for the cost of 1ÂŁ each.

So time for the brakes, i noticed there was some lip on the discs.
And a little rattling under braking. Surely the P.O has neglected this a bit. Got everything apart and cleaned up. Pistons are corroded on the inside but moves allright. I wil take the callipers apart when i upgrade the brakelines later.
A touch of paint and all done exept for this:
No springs installed between the pads, i guess thats where the lip came from :-(

Looks like you need a full set of anti rattle springs/lift off springs, Autolinkmx5 sell them, did you use red rubber grease in the slider wells on the carrier?

Lift off springs are on the way. i cleaned up the small clips and reused them, is that a bad idea?
I havent greased anything yet, waiting for the paint to cure, copper grease is at hand. This is just a test muck up, i have never done brakes before. So tricks and hints are more than welcome :-)

Don't forget the rubber grease for the slider pins, but using the old slider clips is fine as long as they are ok.

NNNNoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo not copper slip on the slider pins, it will do the opposite to what you think it should, with the heat it will turn to a goo, sticky mud and will affect the rubber compound and turn it hard and shrink, red rubber grease on the slider pins and copper slip on the slider clips, shims, pot, handbrake arms etc.
