Mk1 S-Special Renovation Project, 10

Postby Shaz_mx5 » Mon Sep 05, 2016 10:32 am

Build ....10

So, Mr Mazda Mender and myself have decided to rescue a very very clean MK1 S-Special that had a bit of light damage to the rear bumper and boot lid and so was Cat-D on the insurance. He's very much going to be overlooking this project..... we all know what he's like and how anal he is about everything I'm not really looking forward to  can't wait for the "don't forget the copper grease!"

So this is the damage....

As you can see, the damage was very minimal..... think the truck come worse off I'll be honest. :bow-yellow:

Fortunately Wayne saw the potential in this car when he went to pick some bits up for another MK1. He rang me straight away to tell me the condition it was in and shouted at me to rescue her.

I finally got back home yesterday after being out and about and got down to finding out what bits came with the car and getting them in place so I can see what's missing and started making a list of all the nuts, bolts, trims etc that we need to get her back on the road. Looks lovely in the sunshine :-) :-) so off went the list to Mr mendender to dig out whats needed from the bat cave.

And the story begins.

At least you all know what you're doing with a roadster like that. I look forward to this resto as well as seeing this car in person soon. Meanwhile I'm off to fit another aircon compressor to my eunos

So when I got back I started to play with the new bits I got and fitting some bits I came across in the garage and in Wayne's Batcave. :text-thankyouyellow: My apologies for the random pics of the engine bay I got carried away with the camera lol.

Just how much damage was there?
