Seal all the openings with Aluminium foil tape. This sticks well and is water proof.

Spray well with degreaser and leave to soak. I then jet wash off. Some areas might need scrubbing with detergent and hot water. Wire Bush any rusty bits. Spray well with brake cleaner or panel wipe.

I use enamel paint (you can buy a 250ml pot in Halfords). I dilute by 20% with white spirt and spray.

Bright and breezy today, perfect carpet cleaning weather.

Jet washed the carpets with some mild detergent.

Think the off white bodywork complements the tan interior. Bullet mirrors add a little retro feel to it IMO.

Welcome thoughts on seats, should I go tombstone or the later adjustable headrest style seats ?

Leave the tombstones in that way you can wire up the headrest speakers, finding a UK set in tan with separate headrests won't be easy anyway.

Decided to replace the aged under carpet sound proofing. So ordered 2mtrs x1.5mtrs of sound proofing felt and a tin of spray adhesive. Then set about cutting and fitting it. Used masking paper to make the necessary patterns.

More interior work. Original tan dash suffered from damage to the top black section. Believe someone in the past had ‘stuck’ on a phone holder/mat. Tried to repair but to no real avail. So had to bite the bullet and recover the top. Decided on black Alcantara cloth. And whilst at it, as the dash would never be standard again, gauge pods to the crash pad. Photos below.

Finishing off the edges. Used spray contact adhesive to glue everything down. Careful to mask up the finish sided the Alcantara to prevent glue contamination.

And last photo of the Alcantara finish. Great when the flock is brushed all the same way, but will play havoc with my OCD when people touch it and leave marks :naughty: :naughty:
