Thanks for sorting out the pictures & taking the time to do this. I will get a camera as it will be usefully for checking out stuff. To be honest i never thought of getting in from there but it looks like you still have to get past them two smaller holes to get to it properly. Once i get the camera i'll post up some pictures so we can all have a look.

At least one good thing came out of this so far. Another place to get the probe into other bits

You can get the cameras you are talking about on the bay of E for £40 odd, that flap of plastic is where the courtesy light switch wire runs behind the pillor trim in the cab Royster .

My advice... don't get a cheap one. I got a 'ring' one, without a screen onboard, and its a massive MASSIVE pain in the ass!!

For the sake of £30/40 for a screen model, its worth it. :handgestures-thumbup:

Ok, so how tight does the outer skin fit over the top bump of the inner sill? Im thinking perhaps even if the access hole does grant access do the two panels butt up and effectivley seal the chamber FLEA drilled into?

Hi Wazza. Not sure about that section to be honest. I think the problem/s are where the outer rear quarter near the arch is tight to the inner quarter & it capillaries moisture between the two skins & the other area that i think is vulnerable is where the outer arch meets the inner arch on the seam underneath the arch. I noticed that Roadster 1980 seals where the two meet on the arch which is a brilliant idea & im going to do that to mine for sure.. Maybe the water capillaries between the two skins & finds its way down to the bit at the back of the rear quarter ? The only reason i done the hole is that you should be able to get better coverage into the section of the rear quarter through the two holes on the inner section. Its not a cure but its got to help. But saying that i think Ste's sealer bit does more to save catching the tin worm.

Thanks for the kind words, like you say flea it probably does help to you putting in the extra hole to get more in there but I think thats down to the owner to do as my job is to make it look more original spec but better sealed up, I don't want to be drilling holes in peoples cars, I think on my own I will take up your idea though, like you say you never going to fully cure rust you can only ever slow it down unless you make it all out of Galv which I wouldn't do.

so...got myself a cheap usb camera...7meters long, why ? god only knows...car duly dismantled. Accessing via the port hole behind the seat belt trim, there is definatley space between the outer skin and the inner sill, for the camera and of course then a waxoil probe to get into the hidden cavity. The gap is about 4-5mm. I'll try to post some pics....no too great on pc but the camera clearly illuminated and let me see insode the sills and rear arch area. Super bit of kit but software is a bit dodgy. Anyway it's now all nicely waxoiled and put back together.

I wont post loads as there not that interesting....thrown a few odd ones in try and guess where else you can shove the camera....
