Brake warning light

Postby Shadgrind » Fri Oct 02, 2015 10:57 am

Whatever the model though, have you checked the fluid level. Could be low on brake fluid? If it isn't then, like M-m says it could be a few different possibilities.
Oh and have you adjusted your handbrake cable before this happened, if so how tight is it, how many clicks up before it locks the rear wheels?

Are you saying that the light only stays on while the key is switched to the start position but the engine isn't running?
And it goes out and works normally with the handbrake?

If I turn the key to the on position the brake warning light stays on when operating the handbrake if I start the engine so the car is running and the battery light goes out the brake warning light goes out if I drop the handbrake but won't go out if the car isn't running and the battery light is on
