Wheels....

Postby wazza99 » Wed Dec 23, 2015 9:12 pm

Looking at my car today and decided the wheel let the side down, so thinking of getting them properly re done.

So as i know you know know a lot !

What is the correct colour i should ask for to keep them as they were from factory ?

I'm sure they have a "rough" finish" ? is that something i need to ask for ?

What process do i need ? im sure there not powder coated, painted i think.

They are the "standard" 8 spoke Eunos alloys ...sure they have name but it eludes me :-)

The silver i have always used is Honda vogue silver which is a good colour but make sure they are lacquered, if you do them in the correct colour in the correct way they will not last 12 months over here, the 7 spoke alloy rims were some of the nicest rims Mazda did for the Mk 1's ,i still have my V.S II polished rims that came over with mine and a standard set in vogue silver with winter tyres on.

Its a personal choice.

I had the alloys to my Passat bead blasted and powder coated some three years ago and they look as good today as they did when I got them back. At the same time I had the alloys on the wife's fezza repainted and laquered and they are starting to go again, so if we do them again it will be powder coating for us.

As for our Daisies, not sure yet which way to go as and when they need any attention!!
