Hi All,

Got play in the steering rack. Checked all the ball joints, the steering column UJ and and all other joints and all seems well. So it seems to be the rack.

Does anyone know the procedure for adjusting the pre-load? I see there is a large 38mm? locknut with a smaller nut head in the centre on the rack opposite the steering column input. Is this for the pre-load?

Any advise would be appreciated.

You certainly did, advice was get a new rack and as far as I know that advice still stands!!
